LEO OTIS HALL, DMDLeo Otis Hall was born in Columbia, SC, and obtained his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of South Carolina in 1972. He graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, in Charleston in 1975. Upon graduation, he began practice in general dentistry in Greenville. He returned to the Columbia area in 1982, opening a private practice in Lexington. From the beginning of his career, Dr. Hall was involved in the early development of implantology – the process of placing an artificial tooth root in the jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. He performed his first dental implant in 1980 and has actively pursued additional training and education since that time. In 1987, he completed a one-year maxi-course in implantology at the Medical College of Georgia, the first of its kind in the United States. Since then, Dr. Hall has studied under various renowned implantologists and completed rigorous training to remain up-to-date in new methods and procedures. Today, Dr. Hall continues a thriving practice in general dentistry, while devoting a major part of his practice to the placement and restoration of dental implants. He is a popular lecturer at numerous professional groups, both regionally and nationally. Dr. Hall is a member of several national and international professional implant
organizations and has been secretary of the South Carolina Implant Study Group
since 1994. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists; a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry; and a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of General Dentistry. |
